Description
Dreaming of an extraordinary escape but short on vacation days? This is your perfect answer! Discover a truly one-of-a-kind adventure, tailor-made for travelers with limited time. Prepare to be utterly captivated by the stunning beauty of the Aeolian Islands. Picture yourself exploring the vibrant charm of Lipari, feeling the chic allure of Panarea, and witnessing the dramatic, fiery spectacle of Stromboli. It's an experience that promises enchantment around every corner.
Get ready for an unforgettable island-hopping adventure! Our journey begins at the Milazzo harbor, where we'll set sail around 9:15 AM (boarding starts at 8:30 AM).
As we leave Milazzo behind, prepare to be captivated by the stunning Mamertine Promontory. We'll glide past the imposing Milazzo Castle, a majestic landmark that sets the stage for the wonders to come, as we make our way towards the enchanting Aeolian Islands.
Our first stop is the vibrant island of Lipari, where we anticipate arriving around 10:30 AM. Here, you'll have ample time to explore the island's rich archaeological treasures, delve into its captivating history, and indulge in some delightful shopping.
After soaking up the charm of Lipari, we'll re-board and set course for Panarea. En route, prepare to be mesmerized by a breathtaking coastal tour, showcasing the idyllic Calajunco Bay, the secluded Zimmari Cove, and the picturesque Drauto Bay.
Upon arriving at the port of S. Pietro on Panarea, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the island's unique atmosphere. Take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters, savor a delicious lunch at one of the local restaurants (optional), or explore the island at your leisure. For the adventurous souls, a visit to the prehistoric village "Capo Milazzese" is a must! You can reach it by hopping on a local taxi (not included) or enjoy a scenic 45-minute walk.
Leaving Panarea behind, our next destination is the legendary Stromboli.
During our voyage, keep your eyes peeled for the remnants of ancient Panarea – a mini-archipelago formed after a powerful volcanic eruption. These volcanic fragments, scattered across the sea between Panarea and Stromboli, include the distinctive formations of Dattilo, Panarelli, Lisca Bianca, Lisca Nera, Bottaro, and Basiluzzo (Spinazzola). Look closely, and you might even spot the "Carto del Carbone," the inner part of an ancient crater!
As we approach Stromboli, the iconic black sand beach and the "Scari" will immediately capture your attention. A leisurely stroll from the port of San Vincenzo will lead you to the charming Church of San Vincenzo, offering panoramic views of Ficogrande, Strombolicchio, and the island's captivating northern side. Continue your exploration to discover the house-museum where scenes from the iconic film "Stromboli Terra di Dio," starring Roberto Rossellini and Ingrid Bergman, were filmed.
As dusk settles, Stromboli comes alive in a truly extraordinary way. While other islands embrace the typical evening rituals, we'll embark on a unique experience. Passing beneath the Sciara del Fuoco (the "stream of fire"), you'll witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of incandescent lapilli erupting from the volcano and cascading into the sea. During effusive eruptions, like the one in 2019, molten lava rivers flow down the slope, creating massive plumes of steam as they meet the water.
Our return journey to Milazzo is scheduled for approximately 10:45 PM, leaving you with memories that will last a lifetime.
