Description
On this Savoca and Taormina tour from Messina, a local guide meets you at the cruise terminal and drives you along the Ionian coast, talking about Sicily's stories and traditions on the way. The day lasts about six hours and is built for cruise travellers, in small, relaxed groups.
Savoca comes first. The guide shows you the corners made famous by The Godfather, but spends more time on the village itself: three churches, San Nicolò, San Michele and the Mother Church, plus the calm of its lanes, its customs and some of its resident artists. There is room for photos, for the view, and for a granita eaten the local way.
In Taormina the pace is yours. After a short introduction the guide shares personal suggestions: viewpoints, cafés, places to eat and less obvious corners. You can walk along Corso Umberto, browse the boutiques or just sit with the scenery.
