Description
Begin with granita and a soft brioche, the Sicilian breakfast, on this Messina food tour that keeps going for three hours across four or more stops. The group never exceeds 12 people, so the English-speaking local guide can talk to everyone about the stories and traditions behind each dish.
After the granita comes an arancino, a crisp rice ball filled with things like ragù, mozzarella or peas. Next is focaccia, with toppings that can include tomato, escarole, anchovy and cheese. The sweet finish is a cannolo, a crisp shell filled with ricotta cream. The tasting adds up to a full meal.
- water and one alcoholic drink, usually a local beer
