Description
This Isola Bella boat tour from Messina begins on land: someone holding a sign with your name waits at an agreed point, whether you arrive in the city or step off a cruise ship. From there you travel to the bay of Taormina, where the boat is waiting. The whole outing takes about six hours.
The sea part is spent in a marine nature reserve with clear water, home to the Blue Grotto. On Isola Bella you can spot a garden, a villa and a pool above the water. The boat also visits the Sant'Andrea Cave and each of the four bays along this stretch of coast, from Giardini Naxos on, passing the Faraglione. It pauses at Capotaormina for a swim, with prosecco, water and almond pastries to follow.
Back on land, the tour reaches Piazza San Pancrazio in Taormina. You can stroll the narrow lanes of Corso Umberto, enjoy the views and walk to the Greek theatre; the entrance ticket is not included.
