Description
This pasta and tiramisu cooking class in Messina takes place in the home of a local cook, and you do the work yourself. You learn to roll sfoglia, fresh pasta dough, by hand and to prepare two simple kinds of pasta from scratch. Then comes the tiramisu.
The class is run by Cesarine, a network of home cooks, the oldest in Italy, who welcome visitors into their own homes and serve recipes from their family cookbooks. It begins with an Italian aperitivo to warm up, and ends at the table:
- aperitivo with prosecco and nibbles
- hands-on lesson on two pasta types and tiramisu
- tasting of both pasta recipes and the tiramisu
- water, wine and coffee
The class lasts two to three hours. For privacy you receive your host's full address only after booking, and you are asked to share any food intolerances, your neighbourhood and how you plan to get there so the right cook can be matched to you. Wheelchair users cannot join.
