Description
On this Messina photo walking tour, your guide meets you at the cruise port and takes you to the places that make the best pictures and selfies. Bring a camera and comfortable shoes, because most of the day is spent on foot.
The first stop is the Catalani Church, which came through the 1908 earthquake while most of its neighbors fell. Then, in Piazza Duomo, you climb the Bell Tower to a terrace with a full-circle view of the city, the harbor below and the Strait beyond. At noon the tower's moving statues perform to Schubert's Ave Maria.
A light lunch of typical Sicilian street food comes next. The walk then turns panoramic, up to the Madonna di Montalto church and the Christ the King shrine, where the Strait and the Italian mainland fill the view.
